Apr 29, 2002: MagniComp^TM announces the first pricing increase in 5 years for it's SysInfo^TM product effective with the SysInfo^TM 4.2 release. The new pricing structure is intended to align product licensing with the cost of development and support.

In the previous licensing scheme, a license for any host cost $10, not including volume discounts. That $10 applies if the system was a $500 PC desktop or a $5M server. Obviously the cost to develop and support SysInfo^TM on the $500 PC is not the same as the $5M server.

The new pricing structure is based on the number of CPU's present in each system. There are now 4 classes of licenses which are defined by the number of CPU's in each class as follows:

A sample customer might have 50 x 1-4 CPU (EU1) systems, 5 x 5-8 CPU (EU2) systems, and 2 x 32 CPU (EU4) systems. In such a case, the customer would need to purchase 50 EU1 licenses, 5 EU2 licenses, and 2 EU4 licenses. The customer would receive a single license file containing all licenses.

Customers Upgrading With Support and Maintenance

Customers who have current Support and Maintenance for SysInfo^TM prior to version 4.2 can upgrade their licenses to EU1 (1-4 CPU) licenses for free. However, any system with more 5 or more CPU's will require the purchase of the appropriate class of license (EU2-EU4). In such cases we will provide a special, one-time discount of 50% off list price. Please contact sales@magnicomp.com to receive this special discount.

For example, suppose you have a SysInfo^TM 4.1 license with current Support and Maintenance for 100 systems. You can get a free SysInfo^TM 4.2 EU1 class license for 100 RTUs from our Customer Service web site by logging in and clicking on Upgrade. If 5 of your systems have 5-8 CPU's, then you would need to buy 5 x EU2 licenses and you would be eligible for the special discount of 50% off list price on that purchase.

Customers with Site Licenses with Support and Maintenance

Customers who have current Support and Maintenance can receive a free single, new site license good for all classes of system (regardless of CPU). Just visit our Customer Service web site, login, and click on Upgrade.
