MagniComp(tm) is pleased to announce the availability of SysInfo(tm)
version 4.2.2 for production use. This release contains bug fixes and
updates to the hardware device databases.
It is recommended that current users of version 4.2 upgrade to this
release.
NEW FEATURES
This release contains the following major changes:
- Fixed problem with Sun system model being reported incorrectly.
- Improved disk hardware detection on Linux systems with many disks
and/or fiber-channel disks.
- Updated CPU identification of Intel CPU's.
- Fixed occasional crash when using -class software in the GUI
on AIX.
- Fixed problem with -class software on AIX not working at all
if rpm(1) was missing.
- Binary distributions now check for free space in /tmp. The
--tmpdir option was also added to specify the directory to
place temporary files in during extraction.
- Updated OS version reporting on AIX to match oslevel(1).
- Fixed several HPUX problems including one which caused a core dump.
- Updated Sun device tables and fixed problem with unconfigured NIC's
from not being identified.
